You'll certainly never look at a Chicken McNugget the same way again.Pollan approaches his mission not as an activist but as a naturalist: "The way we eat represents our most profound engagement with the natural world." All food, he points out, originates with plants, animals and fungi. He's also funny and adventurous. Pollan meditates on the freakishly protean nature of the corn plant and looks at how the food industry has exploited it, to the detriment of everyone from farmers to fat-and-getting-fatter Americans. He bounces around on an old International Harvester tractor, gets down on his belly to examine a pasture from a cow's-eye view, shoots a wild pig and otherwise throwThis book blew me away. But tell that to his real life sister, who finds him in the hospital and tries to take care of him. A useful reference, well written of course, a bit humourous in spots, authoritative. I recommend it for fans and collectors of all things Hellboy, or just anyone needing a calendar.. You should also be aware that this is not a specialized tutorial for each tool; you will have to review the tools' documentation too at some point, but I see this as expected.I have been a technical lead for over 5 years and I love this book.. However, expect lots of precision cutting. Living scarecrows don't freak me out like anthropomorphic birds do (which is maybe weird, no?), so I appreciated this installment better than the last. There's enough detail here to make it totally believable, and poignantly so.The life he led as a child is the stuff of black and white films. Plus, she lives at home. The flashcards, highlighting, and other features are very helpful.. It was predictable and I'm glad I didn't pay for the book or I'd be very annoyed.
